Prix Ars Electronica:
Honorary mention for D-CENT
D-CENT received an honorary mention in this year’s Prix Ars Electronica, under digital communities category. A total of 3,159 entries from 84 countries were submitted for prize consideration to the world’s most time-honored media arts competition.
The Prix Ars Electronica is one of the most important yearly prizes in the field of electronic and interactive art, computer animation, digital culture and music. It has been awarded since 1987.
D-CENT is happy and proud to announce that, in this year’s competition, it received an honorary mention in the Digital Communities category.
A total of 3,159 entries from 84 countries were submitted for prize consideration. In Digital Communities, the number of submissions was 299. The entries were around social and artistic impact of the Internet technology as well as on the latest developments in social software, user generated content, mobile communications and location based services.
The winners were chosen by 20 experts from all around the world.
The prizes were handed out in four categories:
